Mount Olympus Presents:

Mythic RPG Reviews II

So, you'd like to be a Mythic Hero in the service of Olympus, toppling tyrants and vanquishing fabulous beasts, rescuing princesses from sea monsters and establishing legendary dynasties?

Others have attained these heights, so the attainment is indeed possible, but the path is extremely difficult, and often ends in tragedy. Are you truly up to the challenge?

If you are, I highly recommend the Mythos: Hero's Handbook by Gilbert Gallo, published by Mystical Throne Entertainment. Mythos has become one of my favorite Mythic RPGs and I an greatly looking forward to adventuring in it.

You are oriented in A World of Epic Deeds. Hesiod is your Guide and he introduces you to the setting through a poem and a remarkably consistent version of Greek Mythology, supplemented by a Timeline.

How Heroes Are Born walks you through the Character Creation process. As Mythos is currently available for Savage Worlds and the Entropic Gaming System, your experience may vary slightly when you fully incarnate.

Outfitting Heroes is an Agora, an ancient marketplace where you can price and purchase all the items you need to adventure in style.

The Threads of Fate explains how Moira, to whom even the Olympians must bow, operates in the Mythos universe.

An introduction to the Olympians follows in The Gods. The pros and cons of having each deity as a Patron are clearly explained. This is followed by an explanation of Votive Deeds and Crafted Items and an exploration of what is required when one is dedicated to divine service. The Olympians, if pleased, may show favor by lending you Divine Items, such as Athena's helm and Poseidon's trident.

Secrets of the Mystery Cults concludes the book with a brilliant way of integrating the Mystery Rites and Rituals of antiquity into your Mythos gaming experience. Gilbert Gallo has taken obscure fragments of lore and woven them into a cohesive tapestry that is fascinating and fun.

Bravo Gilbert Gallo!

Onwards!
