No thinking person would deliberately venture forth into the untamed wilderness declared inviolate by the goddess Athena, especially not on her own beloved garden world.

But there's never much to do in the thinly populated farm-settlements on the borderlands... and, regardless of where you happen to be, kids will be kids.

When a children's game of daring and bravado leads to the abduction of Zotikos, the local aristocrat's son, you and your heroic companions must retrieve him, or his corpse, from the talons of the merciless instruments of Athena's wrath.

This is the challenge of Harpies, a One-Sheet adventure for the Dogs of Hades RPG. Zotikos is the treasure. He is in a cliff-side cave, one of many, and about to be eaten by really foul bird-women. No doubt Minotaurs, centaurs, and maybe even cyclopes, are on the way and will pursue you relentlessly as long as you remain in the wilds. And who knows? Your transgressions, compounded with those of the children, may even endanger the lives of the fine folks around and a bit beyond Shepherd's Rest.

Harpies is a fun and fast paced romp, a relentless race against time and the hooves, claws, teeth, wings, hands and crude weapons of deadly mythical beasts who are very determined to get you.

As with the other One-Sheet adventures, Harpies is a fun stand-alone that can easily be added to, or expanded into, a much more detailed Dogs of Hades campaign.
Three Scenes and an Aftermath, with four variant endings, make this adventure, with minor tweaking, extremely replayable. As long as there are forbidden boundaries, and curious kids, the possibility of this happening again (or even fairly often) remains very high.

Onwards!
