March is Water and Sanitation Month

This month is designated as a time to provide two of life's most basic requirements.

For March I re-affirmed my commitment to finding a local Clean Water related cause, or causes, that could be championed through our Mythic Atlantis activities. I also committed to raising awareness, and inspiring folks to take action, to protect our planet's Clean Water supply. Folks wishing to join in these endeavors may do so through our Mythic Atlantis group on Facebook.

As March was formerly Literacy Month on the Rotarian Calendar, all the books we've donated to local libraries this month as part of our Countdown to Mythic Atlantis are dedicated to my Rotarian Odyssey.

On March 3rd, 2016 Guest Speaker Lois Horowitz informed us about the Rotary Friendship Exchange and Rotary Day at the United Nations, two powerful Rotary initiatives that support Peace, my chosen Area of Focus. I resolved to explore these both and, when circumstances allow, to get more involved. Lois also introduced us to Gift of Life America, a program that assists families with better meeting the medical or developmental needs of their children.
