The Atlantis Project
Learning from Yesterday's Legends

By exploring the legends and lore of lost Atlantis, we hope to learn from the mythic civilization's epic triumphs and tragic mistakes. These lessons will hopefully guide us in making wiser choices in the here-and-now that will positively impact our collective future.

The Quest for the Golden Fleece

In esoteric lore it is said that in the days of Atlantis, the Goddess Liberty herself erected a vast Temple complex honoring the Sun and the Twelve Solar Hierarchies on and around what is now the Greater New York City Area. The Central Altar was in New York Harbor, where the Statue of Liberty now stands. Though there were several such complexes on our globe throughout our history, including in South America, the one past the Western Gate of Atlantis was our planet's primary focal point for Gaia.

The physical structures were destroyed during the Cataclysm but the Temple itself still exists and has remained active, hovering over modern Manhattan on the Etheric Plane, channeling the powerful solar energies that guide our planet's evolution. Though invisible to our mortal eyes, the Temple complex attracts bold and adventurous individuals seeking gold on multiple levels.

Since the days of myth, ancient mariners in Europe have braved the unknown and sought legendary treasures across the Atlantic, including the Golden Fleece and the Golden Apples. Both have strong Solar associations and are linguistically interchangeable. Some have suggested that these items represented actual gold, copper, tin or even psychotropic plants. And indeed, there is much evidence to support each of these theories. The ancients left behind ample evidence of their visits.

In Solar symbolism the voyage westward, in the direction of the sunset, releases you from the habitual patterns of your old life and promises a fresh start, a new beginning, a rebirth.

Those emigrating to the United States seek the American Dream: life in a paradise where liberty reigns, the streets are paved with gold and there is equal opportunity for all. It is no accident that the Goddess Libertas looms large near their once-point of entry, wearing a solar crown, holding aloft a torch to keep the dark at bay and grasping a Book of Law. The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom and was gifted to us by France, where the Flame of Liberty was secreted after Atlantis was swallowed by the waves. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are declared unalienable rights in our Declaration of Independence, and the American government was created to protect them.

Some come here seeking freedom from religious persecution. The melting pot of people and cultures exchanging information, coupled with the freedom to think and communicate, have given birth to many new forms of spiritual expression. Theosophy, the I AM Activity, Celestial UFO Spirituality, Spiritualism, New Thought and the New Age Movement all emerged from the cultural diversity that defines us. America is a nation of immigrants.

The Elysium Project is currently focused on the Quest for the Golden Fleece and our Intrafaith/Interfaith initiatives. The Atlantis Project will follow suit and demonstrate how safeguarding the Golden Light of Liberty is central to the success of our adventure.
