Hercules Today: Graphic Novels
In
Antarctic Press' 'Herc and Thor Vol. #1' Hercules has renounced his
Olympian heritage and now dwells among his beloved mortals performing
small but significant good deeds.
His cover is blown
when Thor, his old friend and rival, enlists his aid in locating
Mjollnir, the Norse Thunderer's dwarf-wrought mallet.
There is lots of humor in this mythic tale.
The banter and comic interplay between Herc and Thor is well done and
handled quite differently than this mismatched pairing plays out in
Marvel Comics. In Antarctic Press' version Hercules is the straight
man!
There are hints of at least one earlier Herc tale
in this tome and the potential for many more adventures but alas my
questing yielded naught.
