Mighty Max

In the 1993-1994 animated television series Mighty Max a Lemurian bird-man named Virgil and the Champion of our Age, called Norman, help prepare Max, the Champion of the Coming Age, for his destined role.

There is a lot of time travel via portals in their adventures and there are many beings who would like to see Max and his Mentors fail, most notably Skullmaster (Tim Curry).

Throughout the 40 episode series Norman's many legendary names are slowly revealed. He was Samson, Thor, Lancelot and Little John. In the episode Dawn Of the Conqueror it is revealed that he was also Hercules. Norman was given voice by Richard Moll.

Mighty Max was based on a Polly Pocket toy line and spawned comic books, video and board games as well as other merchandise. Alas, the series is not currently available on DVD.
