Mount Olympus Presents:

The Art of Rise of the Argonauts is a Limited Edition collector's book that provides imagery from the videogame and insights into the development of the characters. Starting with a Synopsis that sets the stage for this immersive adventure, you are then introduced to the backstories of Jason and his Argonauts: Hercules, Achilles, Atalanta and Pan.

In this version of the timeless tale Jason is already the King of Iolcus, a peaceful and happy land. Alas, his intended Alcmene is slain on their wedding day by cultic assassins seeking to defy a prophesy that spells their doom. With some help from their Olympian Patrons and the Oracle of Delphi, the Argonauts seek the legendary Golden Fleece, the only item that can bring Alcmene back from the dead.

Most of the book contains sketches, paintings and actual images from the game itself.  Dreamlike and atmospheric is how I can best describe them. The slim tome is hardbound with a regal-red cover and gold lettering. Within, the glossy pages conjure the feel of parchment, vellum, metal and marble. The total package proved to be an alluring enough invitation to entice me into attempting Rise of the Argonauts on my PS3.

Onwards (with more to come)!
